Meet Mais
I am a queer Arab woman, a first-generation immigrant, and a witness to the many worlds we carry within us.
Born in Iraq—a land that honors the cycles of life, long embodied through the spirit of Ishtar—I carry a quiet remembrance of her essence within me: the courage to rise, the capacity to love deeply, and the call to step toward our own transformation. My path has taken me through Iraq, Syria, and Kuwait, before arriving in the United States in 2014. Each place, each community, has shaped my understanding of belonging, authenticity, and the sacred threads that connect us to one another.
My work is rooted in deep devotion to creating spaces where people can be fully seen—where all facets of the self are welcome. As a co-founder of Baytouna, a queer MENA community in Denver, I help cultivate spaces that honor the fullness of identity, center lived experience, and nurture meaningful connection among queer folks of Middle Eastern and North African lineage.
I hold a deep belief that transformation unfolds in the presence of care, trust, and relationship. That within the spaces we co-create—with one another and within ourselves—there is a quiet, enduring wisdom. And that when we are met in our wholeness, something within us begins to, gently, return home.
My Coaching Approach
As a life coach, I bring a holistic lens to our work together, attending to the interwoven threads of personal, professional, and contextual elements that make each life unique. I meet clients where they are, honoring their values, stories, and priorities, and guide them toward clarity, alignment, and agency.
I see coaching as a space to remember and reclaim the power, wisdom, and creativity already residing within. It’s a deeply relational container that grants people permission to explore and grow their own relationships— to self, to others, and the life they’re meant to lead.
In our work together, you are invited to show up fully, to be held and witnessed, and to step into a life that feels intentional, aligned, and resonant with the sacred power that has always been yours to claim.
